To turn on Data Shield, you must first enable Role-based Access Controls.

Data Shield manages information access for the systems you’ve integrated with Unblocked. When enabled, this feature will restrict access to data in Unblocked according to the permissions set in the third-party systems you’ve integrated (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Confluence). This means that if a user only has access to one project in Notion, as opposed to all your connected projects, they’ll only see data in Unblocked answers from the Notion project they have permission to view.

Setting up Data Shield

To enable Data Shield, first navigate to the Settings section of the Unblocked web app.

Under Company Settings select Security.

On this page you’ll see the option to turn on Data Shield.

Toggle the switch to turn on Data Shield. A confirmation dialog will appear to ensure you want to enable this setting. If you wish to disable Data Shield in the future, you can do so by returning to this page and toggling the switch off.

Once Data Shield is enabled, you’ll want to encourage your team to connect their accounts on the tools and systems you’ve integrated with Unblocked so they get the best possible responses.
