# Configuring Data Sources

> Giving Unblocked critical context about your application

While Unblocked is designed to build its primary data index from your [source code](/connecting-source-code), granting Unblocked access to other systems you use to build your application improves the quality of answers for you and your team.

Unblocked has pre-built integrations with knowledge management systems, messaging platforms, bug and issue trackers, and more.

If there is public content that can give additional context to your Unblocked instance, you can point it at any publicly accessible website. Or, you can even build out your own integration with Unblocked's API.

In order to connect Unblocked with the tools your team uses, review the documentation for the specific data sources you want to use. Then, set up Unblocked to process all of the material you've shared with it.
